meet dr. liliane kshensky baxter

Liliane Kshensky Baxter, Ph.D.
Director of the Weinberg Center for Holocaust Education



Lili and her mother, Bertha

Dr. Liliane Kshensky Baxter, a child of Holocaust survivors, was born in a displaced persons camp in Sweden. She grew up in Paris and New York, where she attended and graduated from the Workmen's Circle schools and Hunter College.

Lili holds an MA from the University of Pittsburgh and a PhD from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. A teacher and writer, Lili was director of Nonviolence Training and Studies at The King Center in Atlanta. She lectures and writes on the Holocaust, shame and trauma, moral development, nonviolence, and issues of feminist spirituality.

Lili is presently national chair of the Fellowship of Reconciliation/USA and represents the FOR-USA on the IFOR (International FOR) International Steering Committee.
