John Rosenfelder grew up in Fuerth, Germany. He survived internment at Theresienstadt, Bergen-Belsen, Buchenwald, and Dachau concentration camps. After liberation, John found his brother, who had emigrated before the outbreak of the war, and was a paratrooper stationed with the U.S. Air Force in Frankfurt.
John decided to make a new home in Atlanta, where his cousins, Frank and Werner Spiegel, had settled. He completed law school, but decided to go into business. In Atlanta, John met his future wife, Regine Dollman Rosenfelder, also a survivor. John passed away in 1992.
