How Do I Contribute?

When considering a contribution to The Breman, you may wish to consult an advisor to maximize the impact of your gift to the museum.

Make your donation online through a secure website, or simply mail in a check to The Breman at 1440 Spring Street, NW, Atlanta, GA 30309. Or, contact the museum at 678-222-3700 and a donation form can be emailed, faxed or sent to you. We can also take credit card information over the phone, if you prefer.

Cash, Check and Credit Cards: The Breman accepts VISA, Mastercard, and American Express – you receive a tax deduction!

In-kind Gifts: Donate non-cash gifts that help support the mission of THE BREMAN. In-kind gifts must be pre-approved by the Executive Director. (In kind wish list items include highly functional: computers, computer monitors, printers, digital cameras and video recorders, office furniture, office supplies, art supplies and more.)

Securities: Donate appreciated long-term securities, avoid tax on appreciation and receive a tax deduction equal to the current market value of the stock.

Employee Matching Gifts: Donors to the museum’s Annual Campaign can often double or triple the value of their gifts by submitting completed matching gift forms from their places of employment.

Bequests: Designate The Breman as a beneficiary in your estate.

Life Insurance: Take out a policy for The Breman or donate policies whose protection you no longer need. You receive an immediate tax deduction.

Charitable Residues: Leave the remaining assets in your will to The Breman. This will reduce taxes otherwise payable by your estate.

Annuity Trusts: Pays a fixed amount of income during your lifetime with substantial tax deductions. The Breman is the recipient of the remainder at the end of the trust.

Unitrust: Pays a percentage of the trust each year of your life. The Breman is the recipient of the remainder at the end of the trust.

Charitable Lead Trust: Donate part of your estate to a trust now and the income goes into a fund you set up at the museum. This reduces estate taxes.

IRA Distribution: Through December 31, 2009, taxpayers age 70 1/2 and older are eligible to make distributions directly to qualifying charitable organizations from their IRAs without including them as part of their adjusted gross income (AGI) and without paying taxes.  Distributions of up to $100,000 in any one year can only be made from traditional IRAs.

How will my gift be used?

Can I make a tribute gift?
Tributes gifts are a wonderful way to acknowledge special individuals and occasions. Give a tribute gift online through a secure website, mail in a tribute donation envelope/form, or contact the museum to make your contribution (minimum $18 gift suggested). You will receive an acknowledgement of your tax deductible contribution and your designated honoree(s) will receive a formal notification of your gift to the museum. For questions or to make a tribute gift, contact Judy Schancupp at 678-222-3752.

Can I make a pledge over a number of months or years?
Pledges made to The Breman's Annual Campaign must be completed within the fiscal year (July-June). You may arrange to make your donation in monthly or quarterly payments. Other gifts and pledges may be made over a longer period. Contact Jane Leavey at 404-870-1861 for more details.
