Up Close and Personal tour

Register now for up close and personal tours of our newest exhibition ATLANTA COLLECTS: CONTEMPORARY, Art Treasures from Atlanta's Private Collectors. Learn about the artists and the collectors who made the exhibition possible.

The Up Close and Personal Tours  will be every Tuesday, starting on March 21st at 11am. Limited to 12 people per tour. Free with admission. RSVP REQUIRED (we cannot guarantee a tour unless we have a minimum of 5 people pre-registered for it. Thank you for your understanding.)

About the exhibition:
ATLANTA COLLECTS: Contemporary features exquisite works that normally reside in private Metro Atlanta homes, and are rarely seen by the public. Experience original ceramics, beautiful blown glass, and notable painted works that capture the excitement and diversity of contemporary art. Included are works by Richard Jolley, Sandy Skoglund, Radcliffe Bailey, and many more. Curators, philanthropists, and art patrons will enjoy this extraordinary, world-class collection… Make a point to do the same!

    Atlanta Jewish History Talks: The Case of Leo Frank

    Join Steve Oney, the foremost historian on the Leo Frank case, as he discusses one of the most infamous cases of Antisemetism in America and a pivotal moment in Atlanta’s Jewish history. The class will be moderated by founding archivist of The Breman, Sandra Berman, who devoted her career to collecting original historic items from the case and curated an in-depth exhibition that traveled around the country.

    Bearing Witness: Unforgettable Stories from the Holocaust

    Manuela and her family survived the Holocaust hiding in Vichy France. Her story honors the “conspiracy of goodness” that saved them -- from Parisian neighbors and friends, to members of the Resistance, to the grace of villagers who never revealed their whereabouts despite great danger to themselves.

    Atlanta Jewish History Talks: The Activism of Jewish Women

    Join esteemed historians Mark Bauman, Leonard Rogoff, and Diane Vecchio as they discuss the legacy of Jewish women’s activism in Atlanta and the region. Hear these three experts examine suffragettes and the evolving role of women in Jewish social services.

  • February 4th, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

    Jews and Jazz III

    Edutainment at its best. Dr. Gordon Vernick plays trumpet accompanied by vocalist Rita Graham and pianist Kevin Bales as Dr. Vernick tells stories about the significant roles Jews played in the Jazz world. Learn about the contributions of Jewish composers, producers, performers, writers and entrepreneurs.
