If you are interested in history and the Holocaust, comfortable speaking in public, and available weekdays during the day, you can join our docent team! The 2019 Docent Candidate Course begins on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, and ends on Thursday, September 19, 2019 (no class on 8/29 and 9/3). Application below.

    Featuring live musical performance, storytelling, and provocative discussion, this one-of-kind show has been curated to share the Black and Jewish origins of American music and culture. From the creation of the music itself to dawning of the modern music business, this program examines the important, prolific and complicated relationship between these two minorities who, together, made American music "American."

    The Afro-Semitic Experience

    The Afro-Semitic Experience is a band that offers a powerful and poetic musical experience that celebrates diversity, promotes social justice, and inspires hope and joy. They blend Jewish and African-American music to create a dynamic and energizing sound. The group was founded in 1998 by pianist and composer Warren Byrd and bassist David Chevan and has since expanded to include a diverse group of talented musicians.
