A Family Road Movie Into the Past

Join us and filmmaker Cassio Tolpolar at The Breman Museum as we enjoy a screening of his film, “Mamaliga Blues: A  Family Road Movie Into the Past.” Mr. Tolpolar's film documents his family’s journey from Brazil to Moldova in search of a long lost grave.

Entrance to this event is included in regular museum admission and seating will be first-come, first-served.     Maurice Shohet will discuss the history of Iraq’s Jewish community, exploring its decline from a once thriving community to today’s reality of a dispersed, diaspora existence. In addition, as a Jewish Iraqi refugee himself, he will share personal anecdotes related to the history of Jews in Iraq.
