Unforgettable Stories from the Holocaust

PROGRAM CANCELLATION

Out of an abundance of caution and in respect for our speaker and patrons, the 12:30 tour and the BEARING WITNESS program featuring Alfred Schneider Ph.D. scheduled for this Sunday (March 15th) is canceled and will be rescheduled. Thank you for your understanding.

Those of you who have direct contact with persons you know were planning to come, please contact them in case they do not get this message. Watch our website and social media for updates. The museum will be open to the public at for General Admission for FREE this Sunday.

Bearing Witness

Even though school was illegal in Romania for Jews in 1941, Alfred and two friends started their own course of studies and were later tutored by teachers within the ghetto. His academic prowess, ability to learn multiple languages and musical talents proved pivotal to his survival. Alfred Schneider overcame many challenges after the Holocaust as he laid the foundations for a new life.

This is the 12th year the Breman Museum is presenting Bearing Witness. Each year attendance increases attracting a broader audience representing Atlantans of all backgrounds.  A barrier for many to hear this live testimony from the Holocaust has been the price of admission. A generous grant from The Rich Foundation allows everyone to hear these stories first-hand at no cost. Everyone is invited to take advantage of this free offering because it is vitally important to share the stories as the survivor generation is rapidly diminishing.
