The Breman and Neranenah Present Side By Side: A Live Event Series

SIDE BY SIDE!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce a new partnership with Neranenah Concert and Culture Series. The live performance series is called Side by Side and is a week of live performances and conversations that explore Jewish contributions to American arts and culture.

The series is co-presented by our two non-profit organizations whose missions stand side by side in promoting the arts and Jewish culture in our community: Neranenah, a concert and cultural event series with roots in Jewish culture and musical traditions and The Breman, which exists to connect people to Jewish history, culture, and arts.

Soulive and Lettuce co-founder, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning songwriter-produce Eric Krasno continues to evolve with each record, project, and performance. Something of a musical journeyman, his extensive catalog comprises three solo albums, four Lettuce albums, twelve Soulive albums, and production and/or songwriting for Norah Jones, Robert Randolph, Pretty Lights, Talib Kweli, 50 Cent, Aaron Neville, and Allen Stone. As a dynamic performer, he’s shared stages with Rolling Stones, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, and The Roots. Out of seven nominations, he picked up two GRAMMY® Awards for his role as a songwriter and guitarist on Tedeschi Trucks Band’s Revelator and guitarist on Derek Trucks Band’ Already Free. In 2019, he served up Telescope under the KRAZ moniker. The cinematic concept album earned widespread acclaim from the likes of Relix and Salon who hailed it as “a timely New York story.” On his 2021 fourth full-length solo offering Always, he defines himself as not only an artist, but also as a husband, father, and man across these ten tracks with inimitable instrumentation, eloquent songcraft, and raw honesty.

Get ready to LOL with this irreverent Jewish queen of the prank call, which can be heard on The Howard Stern Show. You’ll love her “girl power” attitude and connections to Jewish culture that shine through side by side. Plus, Atlanta local Amanda Marks will be opening the show with her hilarious comedy that is like your favorite bbq brisket, both inexplicably Southern and Jewish.

Jessica Kirson produced FX’s Hysterical, a feature-length documentary that premiered at SXSW 2021. The film explores the changing landscape of women in stand-up comedy and features Margaret Cho, Nikki Glazer, Chelsea Handler, Fortune Feimster, and other notable comedians. Her one-hour special Talking to Myself was debuted on Comedy Central. Jessica recently acted in and served as a consultant, producer, and writer on the Robert De Niro film The Comedian. She is a regular on This Week at the Comedy Cellar and has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The View, HBO’s, Crashing, and Kevin Can Wait. Jessica’s highly anticipated prank call album, The Call Girls, also featuring Rachel Feinstein, was released last year. Recorded virtually during the depths of quarantine, the album features characters such as old Jewish grandmothers, sexy co-eds, a conservative mother and her gay son, and more. These characters are also coming to life in her new podcast “Disgusting Hawk” with rave reviews. Through her “Relatively Sane” podcast, Jessica has interviewed the likes of Bill Burr, Jim Gaffigan, and Rosie O’Donnell. She was awarded “Best Female Comic” by the MAC association in New York City and received the prestigious Nightlife Award for “Best Stand-up Comedian.”
