Biographical/Historical Note:  Sarah Moskovitz, better known as “Sadie,” was born in Poland in 1910 to Harry and Hilda Moskovitz. At a young age she immigrated with her parents and her siblings, Morris and Gertrude, to Savannah, Georgia, where she spent the rest of her life. She graduated from Savannah High School in June 1927, with the intention of entering nursing school the following fall. However, she was stricken with strep throat, and because effective antibiotics hadn’t yet been invented for this infection, she passed away on November 4, 1927 at age 17.

Scope and Content:  This collection contains the graduation scrapbook of Sarah “Sadie” Moskovitz, a student graduating from Savannah High School in 1927. It includes graduation pamphlets and well wishes from friends and classmates. Photographs were removed and added to the Sadie Moskovitz Photograph Collection.
