Summary/Abstract: Clarice Geigerman Woodruff was active in the arts in Atlanta, Georgia. The collection consists of the script used by Clarice from "Driving Miss Daisy," newspaper articles, and invitations, programs and flyers from the many arts related organizations in which she was involved.

Biographical/Historical Note:  Clarice Furchgott Geigerman Woodruff was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1917.  In 1941 she married Henry David Geigerman Jr. and moved to Atlanta where she made a career writing for the "Southern Israelite Magazine."  Her by-line can be seen on articles throughout the 1950s and 1960s.  In later years she also wrote a regular column about people and social events for the "Jewish Georgian."  Clarice later married Bruce Woodruff.  She was active in the Atlanta arts scene and was a member of the Atlanta Symphony Guild and the Atlanta Music Club.  She was also an advisor and extra in "Driving Miss Daisy" a film written by Alfred Uhry.

Scope and Content:  Researchers studying the Clarice Geigerman Woodruff Papers will gain insight into the arts in Atlanta, Georgia. The papers are arranged in alphabetical order by subject and chronologically within each folder.
