Biographical/Historical Note:  In 1932, the LaGrange Daily News declares Simon Struletz "City's Unluckiest Man" when home burns, dynamite explodes and car burns all in a short period of time. Simon Struletz, born in Byelorussia in 1884, moved to New York City in 1910 before permanently settling in LaGrange shortly afterward. He operated several businesses, such as a retail shoe store and a scrap metal supply company.
