Biographical/Historical Note:  Betsy Teplis spearheaded a project to raise money to restore Jewish graves at the historic downtown cemetery. Last year, the group held a rededication of the area with more than 100 people.

Scope and Content:  The materials in this collection consist mainly of material for the Jewish Descendant’s Research Project to locate family descendants of Jews buried in Historic Oakland Cemetery.  This collection also contains records from Betsy Teplis high school years which includes her diploma and memorabilia form social engagements in Atlanta from 1941 – 1943.
