Summary/Abstract:  Papers consisting of files from the many organizations in which Leah Janus was involved such as the Coalition for Women in International Development, numerous committees of the United Nations, the League of women Voters, the United Way, the Georgia Department of Human Resources, the Atlanta Jewish Federation, Jewish Family Services, the Hebrew Academy, the Atlanta Public Schools, and files relating to some of Dr. Sidney Janus' consultations as a psychologist including a job analysis of a B-47 crew, 1953, and the development of a psychological course in culture and the arts.

Biographical/Historical:  Leah Janus was a community leader.  She devoted her life to elevating issues concerning women throughout the world.  She was involved in many social and political organizations such as the Coalition for Women in International Development, numerous committees of the United Nations, the League of women Voters, the United Way, the Georgia Department of Human Resources, the Atlanta Jewish Federation, Jewish Family Services, the Hebrew Academy, the Atlanta Public Schools.  Dr. Sidney Janus conducted a private practice of industrial/organizational psychology.  He was a major force behind the establishment of the applied psychology licensing law in Georgia.  The couple was married for over 50 years before Dr. Janus death.

Scope and Content:  Organization records, minutes, notes, and conference papers, and files relating to psychological consultation.
