Summary/Abstract: Minna Simon Heyman was born on December 29, 1873 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She married Arthur Heyman and had four children; Charles, Herman, Dorah, and Joseph. Her papers consist of diaries spanning 1898-1952 and the book “War Memories” by Frank A. Holden, which mentions Yoel Joel several times throughout the book regarding his service in World War I.

Biographical/Historical Note: Minna Simon Heyman was born on December 29, 1873 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She married Arthur Heyman and had four children; Charles, Herman, Dorah, and Joseph.

Scope and Content: Researchers studying the Minna Heyman Family Papers will gain insight into the everyday activities of a southern woman of Jewish heritage in the American south. The papers are mostly composed of Minna’s diaries dating 1898-1950. Also included in the papers is the book, “War Memories” by Frank A. Holden, which mentions Yoel Joel several times throughout the book regarding his service in World War I.
