He moved to Bucks County, PA to attend the National Farm School (1926-1929).  After graduating he worked at a dairy farm in the same county.  He met and married Martha Kachinski while in Pennsylvania (March 24, 1934).  Martha Kachinski (original name Krevchunski) was born February 10, 1915 to parents who had immigrated from the Ukraine.  In 1941 Harry Weissman and his family moved to Georgia to work at the Honor Farm, DeKalb County, GA.  He lived in government provided housing.  In 1942 he became the Assistant Farm Manager and was promoted to Farm Manager in 1945.  Under his care the dairy farm also began raising swine and conducted extensive work on animal husbandry.  Harry and Martha had two children Donald and Susan.

Harry Weissman retired from federal employment in 1961 and went to work for Allied Foods formulating pet food.  He and his wife, Martha were extensively involved in his community at both secular and religious events.  Harry died in 1988 at the age of 79.  After his death Martha Weissman continued to be extensively involved in the community.  Martha died in 2010 at the age of 95.
