Dmitriy Goroshin was born in 1972 in the city of Tashkent (which is now in the former Soviet republic of Uzbekistan).

Scope of Interview

During the interview he discusses his life between the years of 1972 (when he was born) and 1998 (the year of his emigration to the United States). He gives a broad overview of what it was like to live in a predominantly Muslim country which Uzbekistan became after the fall of the Soviet Union). He further discusses his life after first arriving to the US including all the jobs which he held before becoming a journalist in the US. These jobs ranged from a stock associate at Walmart and Toys R US stores to a road surveyor for Dekalb County Georgia. He has been living in Atlanta the entire time. He also expresses some frustration regarding the pace at which his US Citizenship application was processed due to administrative delays.
