Join Dr. Perry Brickman, the foremost historian on Uncovering a history anti-Semitism at Emory Dental School, as he discusses a nefarious case of Antisemitism in America and a pivotal moment in Atlanta’s Jewish history. The class will be moderated by Dr. Eric Goldstein, The Judith London Evans Director at the Tam Institute for Jewish Studies at Emory University.

 

BIOGRAPHY  

Dr. S. Per­ry Brick­man, B.A., D.D.S, is a retired oral sur­geon, inves­tiga­tive jour­nal­ist. He served as the Jew­ish Fed­er­a­tion of Greater Atlanta Pres­i­dent, 1990 – 92, recieved the Life­time of Achieve­ment Award from the Jew­ish Fed­er­a­tion of Greater Atlanta, and the Emory Medal Award- High­est award giv­en by the Emory Alum­ni Asso­ci­a­tion. Extract­ed: Unmasking Rampant Antisemitism in America’s Higher Education is the author’s first book.

 

 

 


Eric L. Goldstein, was Associate Professor (B.A., Emory University, 1992; M.A., University of Michigan, 1994; Ph.D., 2000); joint appointment in the Department of History and Institute for Jewish Studies with a focus on American Jewish history and culture, modern Jewish history, American social and cultural history (nineteenth and twentieth centuries). He is also an co-author with Deborah Weiner, On Middle Ground: A History of the Jews of Baltimore, Johns Hopkins Univ Press, 2018)."

Come enjoy a stroll around one of Atlanta’s most beautiful public parks, while we discuss some fascinating stories of the individual lives and religious organizations that enabled the city’s Jewish community to persist and flourish.
